‘Becoming Plastic’ invites to enter. Four doorframes take their place in the garden. They offer the visitor an entrance, then an exit. The installation results from an ongoing investigation into inside and outside space and the ways in which they are simultaneously separated and connected. It shows an attempt to question the need for a solid shell.

The shell usually consists of planes, coming into contact in points and lines, forming a whole. Cutting one part of space from the other with borders and thresholds; separating the in from the out; creating an inside within the outside. But a shell does not have to be complete to create an inside. An inside can exist without a shell. A threshold can be suggested. Is a feeling of crossing enough to form a border, a plane of the shell?
